The first shot was when I first though of getting the camera, some while after I called 999. The Fire Brigade by this time was on site, my call being way too late but getting to the blaze was clearly difficult as the address of the property had taken them to the main road. The sheds being at the far end of the garden meant going through the entire length of the property. I think one appliance was then sent to approach via the Croft because because that’s where the serious hoses appeared to come from. That is also where the most serious risk to persons and property was.
Now while it all serves to underline the recycling message there is a more serious side. The timing of incidents such as this is critical because had it been when Grove Hill was blocked by congestion or heavy lorries trying to get up in spite of the weight limit, then there could have been a very different outcome. This then prompts the question, what does a fully loaded fire appliance weigh? Many of the dashes through the village are Airport related and could be a lot more serious than a garden shed.
