The Village Hall is jointly owned by the Village, the School and the Church and run by its own committee. The shares result from its being built with funds jointly from the Village and the School plus land from the Church. The village contribution came from selling the old small village hall and its land after it fell into disrepair beyond economic recovery. The arrangement now is that the School has primary occupation weekdays, the village takes over outside school hours but the Church has priority on Sundays.
The Memorial Hall is owned and operated solely by the Elsenham Community Association. It is not as large as the Village Hall but is sited on the Playing Field with the Tennis Courts and Bowls Club. These latter two amenities have their own pages elsewhere on this web-site. Press the Clubs/Groups button to go there.
The Village also has it own Main Line Station, with frequent trains to London and Cambridge. For all information on times, etc., phone 0845 748 4950
